About ISAC

ISAC aims to advance the education and the science of therapy of infection through the establishment of an international federation of affiliated national and regional societies with similar aims and objectives to those of ISAC. ISAC now has over 100 Member Societies around the world which in turn have over 60,000 individual members.

ISAC currently has 17 Working Groups including the Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics (APUA). ISAC Working Groups are engaged in advancing scientific knowledge in antimicrobial chemotherapy, clinical microbiology and infectious diseases through Peer Reviewed Publications, Symposia, Consensus Conferences, International Surveys, Collaborative Research, and Professional Guidelines.

The Society is governed by its Trustees, Executive Committee and Council. The ISAC Council consists of the Executive Committee and representatives of ISAC Member Societies and meets during the biennial International Congress of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (ICC).

ISAC has recently established the ISAC Academy – a free e-learning resource hosting content from ISAC, its Member Societies and partner organizations.
